Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation now accepting applications for 2015/2016 scholarships

Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to supporting the post-secondary educational goals of residents who live in a Balfour Beatty Communities property, is now accepting applications for its 2015/2016 academic scholarship program. Applications can be accessed on the Foundation's website at bbcommunitiesfoundation.org and will be accepted through April 15, 2015.

"With Balfour Beatty Communities' recent expansion into student housing and multifamily housing, the Foundation would like expand its reach to recognize and support the educational goals of not only children of active duty military residens living in Balfour Beatty Communities' military housing properties, but also to other residents living in Balfour Beatty Communities' owned housing. Promoting the pursuit of higher education and encouraging active community involvement remains a primary focus of the Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation," said Christopher Williams (News - Alert), president of the Foundation. "Each year the scholarship applicants have impressed us with their academic and community achievements; and we are proud to be able to help support their education ambitions through our scholarship program."

Since the scholarship program's inception in 2009, Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation has awarded more than 150 academic scholarships. Scholarship awards have ranged from $1,000 to $2,500, with larger amounts granted for exceptional submissions.

Scholarship applicants must be either the child of an active duty Service Member currently residing at a Balfour Beatty Communities military housing property or a resident at a student or multifamily housing community owned by Balfour Beatty Communities. The applicant must be a high school senior, undergraduate or graduate student who is planning to attend or already attending an accredited college, university or technical institution on a full-time basis in the fall of 2015. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 15, 2015. Additional information regarding application requirements can be found on the Foundation's website.
