Reading, UK -- BakBone Software (BKBO.PK), the leading provider of
heterogeneous integrated data protection, has introduced a simplified
licensing model for Data Domain's field and authorised channel
partners. The new licensing model makes it simple for customers to buy
and configure the solutions, as well as cost effective and easy for
Data Domain joint partners to quote BakBone software for any Data
Domain device or configuration. The two solutions are synergistic, with
BakBone providing data protection software and Data Domain providing an
efficient deduplication storage system. Customers can select a VTL
option from either BakBone or Data Domain for a combined solution that
is certified and field-proven at numerous customer sites.

Data Domain's deduplication storage systems address a broad range of
storage application workloads, including disk backup, archiving and
network-efficient disaster recovery. By pairing BakBone's NetVault :
Backup data protection solution with Data Domain deduplication storage
systems, organisations can efficiently address the full range of their
data protection needs.

"We've worked with Data Domain successfully for many years and share
many joint customers with a broad range of environments and
configurations. BakBone is completely complementary to Data Domain
technology, making us a secure partner to work with on engagements,"
said Jeff Drescher, vice president of Marketing, BakBone. "The next
logical step was to create a single licensing model that is easy to use
and cost effective for the Data Domain sales personnel and our joint
partners."

"Data Domain is the leading provider of deduplication storage systems,
and over 2500 companies worldwide have purchased Data Domain systems to
reduce storage costs and simplify data management," said Rod Mathews,
senior director, Business Development, Data Domain. "The new BakBone
licensing model makes it easy to quote and configure combined solutions
to deliver all of the associated benefits to end users."

The combination of BakBone's award-winning data protection solution,
NetVault: Backup and Data Domain advanced deduplication storage systems
gives customers high-performance, cost-effective data protection that
provides concurrent, scalable backup operations; seamless integration;
and lower total cost of ownership.
