Automattic Acquires Prospress, Developer of WooCommerce Subscriptions

SAN FRANCISCO, May 23, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Automattic, the parent company of WooCommerce and WordPress.com, has acquired Prospress, the company behind WooCommerce Subscriptions.

The recurring payment solution, launched in 2012, was developed independently and listed on the official WooCommerce Marketplace. The Prospress team will continue developing its products within the WooCommerce division.

Automattic is a fully distributed company with 900 people working from 68 countries, and Prospress's team is also fully distributed.

For current users of WooCommerce Subscriptions there is no change. Prospress has two other products, AutomateWoo and Robot Ninja, both of which will be part of the acquisition.
