Attracting of youth to entrepreneurship discussed in Tashkent [UzDaily (Uzbekistan)]


(UzDaily (Uzbekistan) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Youth wing of the Executive committee of the Political Council of the Liberal-Democratic Party of Uzbekistan and Mahalla Charity Public Fund held a business forum titled "Issues of cooperation in attracting youth to small business and private entrepreneurship and creation of favourable environment".



At the meeting, the participants considered issues of developing small businesses and private entrepreneurship in mahallas, effective use of intellectual of potential young entrepreneurs, increasing their public-political, economic, legal knowledge and experience, organizing family business.

The programme of UzLiDeP determines its position in relation to youth. The party's activities are directed at increasing public-political activities of youth, strengthening their interests to doing business, creating economic and legal conditions for doing small business. The members of the UzLiDeP are initiating and implementing the projects on studying needs of the youth.


The party underlined that number of youth, who are members of the party, makes up 89,044 people, of them 1,961 are working as chairpersons in primary party organizations.

The meeting considered implementation of the UzLiDeP to promote activities of the youth. The sides discussed recently adopted decree and resolution of the president on improving business environment in Uzbekistan.

During the business forum, the participants considered implementation of these presidential documents on improving business environment and doing business in the country, as well as attracting foreign investments.

It was noted that over 26,000 small businesses were created in Uzbekistan and some 190,000 people work in the industry. Currently, 23% of industrial products, almost all market services, 18% of export products fell to the share of the sector and 75% of employed population in economy work in the sector. It was underlined that small businesses currently are playing key role in economy of Uzbekistan.

The business forum also considered operations of special industrial zone "Angren", where currently capacities on production of energy-saving LED lamps, copper pipes, coal briquettes for about US$44 million. New sugar plant and other enterprises were created in the zone.

At the meeting, the participants of the forum considered expansion of private and family businesses, providing loans to private entrepreneurs, increasing employment of graduates of the college, etc. The participants also agreed to hold such business forums in other regions of Uzbekistan.
