AssetOptics Debuts Version 2.7 of CMMS/EAM Solution for Salesforce

AssetOptics Debuts Version 2.7 of CMMS/EAM Solution for Salesforce; Incorporates Valuable New Workflows, Fields and Functions Atlanta, GA, January 15, 2015–AssetOptics, a leader in cloud-based CMMS/EAM solutions, today announced the release of AssetOptics Facilities, Equipment and Fleet Maintenance for Salesforce version 2.7 (v2.7). The new release offers numerous improvements, including new features that dynamically generate and display maps of asset and work locations, and new Bills of Materials functionality enabling direct access to bills of material and more flexibility setting up asset groups and bills of materials.

“Companies realize the most benefit from CMMS when its functionality encourages advanced decision-making, and we have always focused on that aspect of our product,” said AssetOptics Founder Mike Edwards. “This release, from on-the-fly mapping that enriches scheduling logistics to automated start date assignment that streamlines workflow, provides even more support for our customers in attaining that goal.” With v2.7, customers will gain six powerful new features that extend functionality, enhance interoperability with other solutions, and make the interface more intuitive and user friendly. The new features include: • Geolocation and Mapping: In both the Asset Tag Detail and Work Order displays, a new field, Geolocation, replaces the existing Latitude and Longitude fields with a Force.com-compliant geolocation field type. When this data is provided, a new page layout section, Geolocation, displays a dynamically generated map of asset or work locations based upon data in an Asset Tag record or a Work Order record, respectively.

• Bills of Materials Retrieval and Viewing: A new Bills of Materials command button in a Work Order, when clicked, displays a Visualforce page with a Bills of Materials list pre-populated based on the relationship of the Work Order, Asset Tag and Asset Group. If desired, users can then perform an Asset Group lookup and view Bills of Materials not associated with the current Asset Tag.

• Stock Issue Request Generation: The Generate SIR (stock issue request) command button formerly built into Work Order displays will now generate multiple stock issue requests (one for each storeroom) if the selected Work Order Parts record indicates more than one storeroom. However, if the Storeroom value in the Work Order Parts record is Null, the system will not generate an SIR.

“AssetOptics is a highly quality-focused enterprise, so we never consider our solutions ‘finished,’” said Edwards. “However, these latest updates will bring our users even more value for their investments and reinforce the reputation of AssetOptics Facilities, Equipment and Fleet Maintenance for Salesforce as a world-class native Force.com solution for CMMS/EAM.” About AssetOptics AssetOptics is a privately held company with deep domain expertise in enterprise asset management. AssetOptics Facilities, Equipment and Fleet Maintenance for Salesforce is a native Force.com application, benefiting from the reliability, scalability and performance of salesforce.com’s trusted enterprise cloud computing platform.
