Ashford University Clinton Campus President Reappointed to Volunteer Iowa by Governor Kim ReynoldsSAN DIEGO, July 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ashford University Clinton Campus President Dr. Charlie Minnick has been reappointed by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds to Volunteer Iowa (Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service). Dr. Minnick's reappointment was effective July 1, 2017 and will run through June 30, 2020. "I am humbled to be reappointed by Iowa Governor Reynolds to the Commission," said Dr. Minnick. "It is an honor to serve on the board of commissioners alongside fellow Iowans who also share the same passion in wanting to make a positive impact and provide an active voice for others within the Iowa government." As a volunteer commissioner for Volunteer Iowa, Dr. Minnick, along with 30 other commissioners, will be responsible for governing the state agency, Volunteer Iowa, which is responsible for administrating Iowa's National Service and supporting volunteer projects and programs across Iowa. In addition, the Commission, empowered by both federal and state statutes, will set priorities and determine what programs best meet the needs of the state of Iowa. Dr. Minnick serves as president of the Clinton Campus, which now includes a second building, the Student Veteran Center, intended to serve veteran students and service members in the area. At the Clinton Campus, area students are able to meet with university staff about admission, enrollment, transfer records and credits, military tuition assistance, veterans benefits, financial aid, academic advising, and other student servics.
