[July 06, 2009] 'Ascom launches handset for explosive environments' Tweet Jul 06, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- Security and wireless equipment developer Ascom Netherlands is introducing a new handset for Atmosphere Explosible, or ATEX, environments, such as those found at oil refineries or with the chemical industry.The 914T ATEX pager replaces the 912T ATEX. Ascom claims the new model is robust and dirt- and water-proof, according to IP64 norms. The ATEX certificate guarantees thta the pager is safe to have and use in explosive and dangerous environments. The handset features a big lcd screen and tril-signalisation.
