APICS and APICS SCC Honor Students for Achievements in Supply Chain, Logistics and Operations Management


APICS, the premier professional association for supply chain and operations management, and APICS Supply Chain Council today honored students from University of Udine, Italy and HEC Montreal for their exceptional work in the fields of supply chain, logistics and operations management. Winning teams for The APICS Fresh Connection Global Student Final as well as Plossl Research Fellowship and LL Waters Scholarship winners were honored during the closing presentation at the APICS 2015 conference.

Over 50 students from around the world came together at APICS 2015 to participate in The APICS Fresh Connection Global Student Final challenge. "Juice in Time" from HEC Montreal was named the winner of the challenge. "GoJIT" from HEC Montreal and "Excalibur" from University of Udine, Italy were named first and second runner-ups, respectively.

Simone Peinkofer of the University of Arkansas received the 2015 Plossl Research Fellowship and a $2,500 award for her dissertation on operations management.

Emily Waschenko from Pennsylvania State University and Iftin Thompson from Iowa State University received the LL Waters Scholarship, which recognizes students with high potential in the area of logistics. Additionally, Transportation Journal, now an APICS SCC publication, recognized Lisa llram, Miami University, and Susan Golicic, Colorado State University, for their article titled, "Adopting Environmental Transportation Practices" with the Best Paper Award. Robert Novack, PhD, Pennsylvania State University and Paul Murphy, PhD, John Carroll University were also honored with the Outstanding Editorial Reviewer Award.
