Alltel Wireless Launches the SCH-a645 Handset from Samsung; Wireless Phone Passes the Test for Affordable and Quality Service


LITTLE ROCK, Ark. & DALLAS --(Business Wire)-- Aug. 17, 2006 -- Alltel Wireless (NYSE: AT), America's largest network, today announced the availability of the SCH-a645 handset from Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung).

"The a645 from Samsung is an excellent handset for cost-conscious customers who want a cool phone, but don't need every bell and whistle," said Wade McGill, senior vice president of product management for Alltel Wireless. "The a645 is also loaded with hands-free features that make it perfect for busy parents."



Samsung's a645 features a built-in speakerphone and advanced speech recognition that enables users to make calls and launch their contacts, calendar and select other phone tools by voice. This device is capable of downloading games, ring tones and more. The a645 also comes equipped with Axcess Web, which enables users to surf the Internet, along with Axcess text messaging.

"Samsung designs phones with the consumer in mind. The a645 is for the consumer that wants a quality handset with key phone features at a reasonable price," said Peter Skarzynski, senior vice president, Samsung.


The SCH- a645 is available from Alltel for $9.99 after a $20 mail-in rebate. This discounted price is available to new customers on two-year service agreements as well as to existing eligible customers on qualifying rate plans.
