ALGERIA: LOCAL COMPUTER PIRACY ESTIMATED 83%(InfoProd Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)According to El-Khabar newspaper (February 23, 2006), a recently publicized study by the International Data Corporation (IDC, a leading global provider of market intelligence, advisory services, reveals that the computer piracy ratio in Algeria decreased slightly to 83% in 2004, down from 84% in 2003. In a press conference in Algiers, Robert Holleyman, CEO of Business Software Alliance, urged the Algerian government to do more in the area of fighting computer piracy through enlightening users with the importance of real programs use. |
