ACREBroadband Announces Plan To Connect Every Acre - 12 Investor Town Halls Scheduled

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, April 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- ACREBroadband is bringing rural Iowa the same broadband access enjoyed by Iowans in urban areas. Finally bridging the digital divide that leaves many Iowans with poor or non-existent internet access, this revolutionary grassroots movement will ultimately connect every acre of the state with reliable, high-speed internet service.

ACREBroadband's innovative digital network will embed high-capacity cellular radios on thousands of pylons across the state to form a geometric grid that will capture and direct internet signals. According to ACREBroadband's CEO / CTO Philip Kennedy, the company will start building in rural Tama and neighboring counties in late spring 2017.

"When complete, the system provides homes with high-speed broadband Internet access.  It extends the same capability to farm buildings, farm field operations and rural commercial businesses using both fixed and mobile applications," said Kennedy.

The platform will meet the needs of rural areas, supporting agriculture (AgTech) and infrastructure (DOT, education, utility, economic development) tools and applications.
