Acer and Fortemedia Bring Audio Quality and Advanced Voice Processing Features to Skype and Microsoft Lync

Acer and Fortemedia today announced that they have completed Skype (News - Alert) and Microsoft Lync Audio Hardware Certification and will now offer a superior voice communication experience on Acer platforms using the Skype and Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync applications. Acer and Fortemedia's certification covers all Skype and Microsoft Lync VoIP modes including wideband and super-wideband speech. Additionally, Acer (News - Alert) has included features that further enhance the Skype and Microsoft Lync applications.

The additional capabilities beyond basic Skype and Microsoft Lync certification include:

• Keyboard Sound Suppression - for simultaneous Instant Messaging (IM) when using Skype or Microsoft Lync
• Voice Tracking - for improved hands-free communication
• Far-field Voice Pickup - for improved group conferencing
• Stereo Recording - for meeting archive and record keeping
