5 teens held in rash of robberies(Orlando Sentinel, The (FL) (KRT) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sep. 5--Five teens authorities suspect of committing at least 20 robberies this summer have been arrested, Orange County sheriff's officials said Thursday. The teens are suspected of driving around in various cars at night, looking for victims who were walking alone or riding bicycles, deputies said. They would then jump out, armed with pistols, and demand cash, ATM cards and codes for the cards, deputies said. Some victims were pistol-whipped, deputies said. The robberies mostly occurred between June and August in south Orange County, according to deputies. Some of the teens were a part of various groups, including one called the Jungle Boys, Detective Jose Ramirez said. The suspects are Kingson Aristil, 18; Anthony Centero, 18; William Harvey III, 17; Latham Xavier, 17; and Samuel St. Juste, 18. They were arrested in connection with seven robberies, and deputies expect more charges to follow. "I am happy," Ramirez said. "After the arrest of the first guy, robberies went down a good 30 or 40 percent." Authorities were searching for more suspects.
