1&1 and GMX Select Across Language Server

Nov 09, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- 1&1 Internet AG, an Internet provider, has chosen the Across Language Server for translating and publishing its hosting and e-commerce solutions into various languages.

By using the centralized translation management software platform from Across Systems, 1&1 said it has already shortened the turn-around time of projects, with 80,000 or more words, by up to 75 percent.

The company said 1&1's subsidiary, GMX, has also recently started to implement the Across Language Server. To facilitate efficient localization of Website content and text, the Across Language Server is connected to its Web Content Management System, as well as to additional editing and Content Management Systems that are used for document creation.

"We chose Across because they provide optimum support for the localization of software products," said Sebastian Zientek, Director of Technical Documentation, Web hosting product development at 1&1. "Across offers ideal solutions for the localization of software user interfaces, the buttons and menu items, as well as online help tools and technical documentation." "External colleagues and language service providers are just as immediately involved in the translation processes as our internal translators who sit in the office next door," said Zientek.
