Advanced Encryption Standard   AES

Definition:

Advanced Encryption Standard is a block cipher based on the Rijndael algorithm, which was named after its inventors Joan Daemen and Vincent Rijmen. AES supports key lengths ranging from 128 to 256 bits. The National Institute of Standards and Technology have declared AES to be the successor of Data Encryption Standard known as Triple DES.
