Packet Design Has Banner Year with SDN-Ready Network Management TechnologyPacket Design experienced a strong year of profitable growth in 2015 with a 36 percent increase in bookings year-over-year, driven by 43 percent growth in new license bookings. This reflects the company's success in adapting its management technology for service providers, enterprises, and government entities managing complex, next-generation networks. The New York City Department of Information Technology & Telecommunications (DoITT) chose the Packet Design Explorer suite in 2015 to ensure optimum delivery of network services to 120 city agencies, boards, and offices, more than 8,000,000 city residents, and 300,000 employees every day. In November, Packet Design announced that the Explorer suite is SDN-ready, providing a service Management and Orchestration (MANO) Platform. The SDN MANO Platform provides access to real-time telemetry, analytics, optimization algorithms, and orchestration functions via open APIs to accelerate customers' deployment of SDN applications. At the same time, Packet Design announced an SDN Traffic Engineering application, built on the platform, which is now being deployed in a number of service provider networks worldwide.
