Return Path Global Security Network Welcomes Email Filtering Innovator Vade Retro

Return Path today announced that Vade Retro, graymail management specialist and Europe's leading email filtering provider, has joined the company's Trusted Cooperative Network, a global partnership of security services and mailbox providers dedicated to improving the quality of email and reducing spam and email fraud. The companies will collaborate to further reduce the amount of unwanted email, manage graymail (low priority emails such newsletters and commercial email), and protect consumers from phishing and other fraud.

To immediately improve the email experience delivered by its internet service provider and enterprise clients, Vade Retro will incorporate Return Path's Certified Whitelist and Reputation Network Blacklist into its email filtering solution, which now protects 150 million mailboxes worldwide, covering 90% of all email accounts in France. Return Path will incorporate Vade Retro's threat and spam data to its suite of services that protect 2.5 billion mailboxes -70% of the worldwide total. Vade Retro will also join the Return Path Global Trap Exchange, a program comprising members of ETIS (the Global IT Association for Telecommunications) that are international telecommunications and internet service providers.

"Our partnership with Return Path improves our ability to detect email threats and to classify graymail, making email even more secure and productive for our clients and their users," said Georges Lotigier, CEO, Vade Retro. "Return Path's leadership in email security and commitment to creating the industry's largest cooperative network was a key criterion for Vade Retro's joining, and matched its vision for a safer and smarter email environment."

Vade Retro provides email filtering and security services to more than 2,000 corporations and mailbox providers in 28 countries, identifying low-priority and fraudulent messages to help network administrators and end users better manage their inboxes and protect themselves from cybercrime, such as phishing attacks.

"Vade Retro is not only dedicated to creating a safer mailbox experience for consumers and corporate users, but is also investing and innovating in graymail management," said Georges Smine (News - Alert), VP/general manager, mailbox provider services, Return Path. "Vade Retro's expertise and coverage helps to improve our assessment of email marketers in France, and protect French email users from unwanted mail."
