Corero Network Security Names Bipin Mistry Vice President of Product Management

HUDSON, Mass. --(Business Wire)--

Corero Network Security (LSE:CNS), a leading provider of First Line of Defense® security solutions against DDoS attacks, today announced the appointment of Bipin Mistry as its Vice President of Product Management. In this role, Mistry will be responsible for the product roadmap and further enhancement of Corero's First Line of Defense product line. Mistry will leverage his security and telecommunications industry experience to continue to align the company's solutions with the needs of its customers.

"Organizations continue to face an onslaught of dynamic threats designed to disrupt business operations or conceal other malicious activities, and their legacy security tools are not keeping pace with attacker innovation," said Mistry. "The Corero solutions empower users to prevent DDoS attack traffic from reaching corporate networks, maintaining Internet service availability, and as a result, allowing other security tools to properly perform their intended duties. In the age of cloud and mobility, this is becoming increasingly critical to corporate productivity and operations, and I am excited to join the company at such an important time."

Mistry's appointment further solidifies the additions to the Corero management team to deliver the highest quality DDoS defense solutions to the market. Earlier this year, the company launched the SmartWall Threat Defense System (TDS), a modular and scalable DDoS mitigation system. The SmartWall TDS is built on next-generation architecture, understanding that protection solutions must be purchased in right size components today, allowing customers to grow accordingly and scale with the evolving needs of their business. The system delivers advanced DDoS and cyber threat protection, as well as comprehensive visibility into the attack landscape associated with the customer network. Mistry will lead the SmartWall TDS roadmap alongside Dave Larson, Corero's Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, Product, to ensure these solutions align with current and future customer requirements.

"Attackers have learned an important lesson over the last several years - advanced and stealth attacks can be even more effective if they are hidden within a DDoS attack," said Larson. "This is becoming an even more pressing issue as organizations are putting more and more assets into the cloud. A single cloud-oriented DDoS attack can have the same impact as a Boston blackout. It doesn't just affect one business; it affects many. Bipin is joining Corero at a critical time, when our customers are maturing their efforts and need solutions that stay ahead of the attackers. His experience and product leadership will be critical."

Mistry brings more than 26 years of industry experience in the enterprise and telecommunications industries to his role with Corero. Most recently, Mistry served as the Chief Architect Mobility for Juniper Networks. In this role, he worked with the connectivity service networks globally to help define their service and security needs in a rapidly evolving mobile environment. Previously, Mistry drove the Service Provider architecture and strategy for Cisco Systems (News - Alert), and ran the Voice over IP (VoIP) line for 3Com. He holds a number of patents, including one in API structure and interfaces specifically tied to mobile monetization.
