ProSiebenSat.1 Selects Octoshape to Broadcast OTT IPTV ChannelsAMSTERDAM --(Business Wire)-- Octoshape, an industry leader in cloud-based, over-the-top (OTT) stream acceleration and contribution technologies for broadcasters, enterprises and carriers, announced today that ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG, Germany's largest privately held, commercial television and pay TV operator, has selected Octoshape's broadcast solutions for expansion into Europe and overseas markets. Fueled by strong demand for their premium content offerings and in order to expand beyond the existing reach of satellite and cable TV, ProSiebenSat.1 required an OTT delivery solution capable of securely delivering broadcast-quality linear and on-demand content to viewers in the local and global market. With a collective audience of about 42 million TV households from within Germany as well as from other countries around the world and 28 million unique online users (monthly average), ProSiebenSat.1's broadcast requirements included delivery of all of the company's linear broadcast channels to multiscreen.
