[May 24, 2013] Danville man pleads guilty to 79 counts of child porn possession Tweet May 25, 2013 (Danville Register & Bee - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Ticey Lee Thompson appeared Friday afternoon in Danville Circuit Court to plead guilty to 79 child pornography possession charges that carry a maximum sentence of 395 years in prison. Thompson was arrested in October after Rodney Brisentine with the Bedford County Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force discovered Thompson's Internet protocol address attached to files known to be child pornography. Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Coleman Adams said Brisentine used the IP address to subpoena Thompson's address from the Internet service provider. When investigators from the Bedford County Sheriff's Office and Danville Police Department entered his house, Thompson was there. He spoke with Brisentine while another investigator searched through images on a laptop found in Thompson's bedroom. A forensic copy of the hard drive was made, and investigators discovered more than 200 images of child pornography in a shared folder on Thompson's hard drive. While he was being questioned by multiple investigators, Adams said Thompson eventually admitted that the laptop was his and no one else used it. When investigators asked him about the content on the laptop, Thompson told them they would find images of child pornography on his computer. Each count of child pornography possession has a maximum five year sentence. If Thompson receives five years for each count, he will spend 395 years in prison.
