Ascom Network Testing Enhances TEMS Discovery Reporting & Analytics Platform

Ascom (News - Alert) Network Testing, the global leader in broadband mobile testing solutions, today announced a strategic step forward in its post processing offering that will deliver a single, unified platform that mobile operators can use to monitor and optimize the performance of network services across a wide range of sources: from end user devices to drive test data, to call trace data from network's operations support system (OSS).

Ascom Network Testing is integrating the capabilities of TEMS Visualization, its OSS-based optimization and troubleshooting solution, as a TEMS Discovery module, exposing reporting from both products via a single, unified Web-based management dashboard. The solution allows operators to consolidate and evaluate trends from multiple data sources, and provide cross-organizational access and use of the information by network operations, customer service and marketing teams, as well as identification of trends by executive management.

The combined solution responds to market demand from mobile operators for solutions that support the ability to develop, deliver and monetize a premium-level Customer Experience in order to retain subscribers and reduce churn. This experience spans a wide range of conditions, some of which - like handset and application performance - are outside of the mobile operator's control.

Mobile operators can optimize their operational efficiency by combining the new TEMS Discovery offering, together with other products from the TEMS Portfolio, to:

• Efficiently grow network capacity - using TEMS Discovery with the OSS module along with TEMS™ Investigation, Ascom's world-leading drive test solution, and TEMS™ Pocket, its walk test solution, to locate network capacity hotspots while rolling out DAS systems and managing new services, such as voice over LTE (News - Alert) (VoLTE);
• Monitor and optimize network Quality of Service
• Deliver and assure a premium customer experience - using TEMS Discovery with the OSS module, along with TEMS™ MobileInsight, Ascom's on-device measurement client, and TEMS Monitor Master, to minimize the impact of application and over the top (OTT) service failures and poor handset performance on VIP users' experience.

TEMS Discovery with the new OSS module and integrated management dashboard will be available in April of this year. Current TEMS Discovery users will be offered the opportunity to add OSS capabilities in June. Ascom Network Testing will continue to support TEMS Visualization users via the new TEMS Discovery OSS module.
