(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Lisbon, Portugal WIT Software, a leading provider of downloadable RCS Applications, has today unveiled the latest version of its RCS Web Communicator application suite, advancing the convergence of rich communications within web sites and services by supporting emerging technologies, such as HTML5 and WebRTC.



Based purely on Javascript and WebRTC, the new version of RCS Web fully integrates web-browsers with existing joyn mobile apps running on iPhones and Android phones, including real-time messaging, capability discovery, voice and video over IP. WIT will be showcasing the WIT RCS Web Communicator on Stand No: 6G80 in Hall 6 during the MWC in Barcelona.

With this announcement, WIT is significantly advancing the RCS ecosystem, preparing the way for new services. The latest WIT WebRTC web app is running on Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, with an optimised version to be launched shortly for Firefox OS, running on upcoming mobile devices that support this operating system. WIT provides a suite of RCS applications for mobile devices and tablets (iOS and Android), PC softphones and Web applications, all of which are fully compliant with RCS specifications. WIT's previous version of RCS Web Communicator was based on Adobe Flash technology, with successful market deployments across Europe by several major operators.
