Syniverse to Grow Global IPX Footprint with Points of Presence in Frankfurt and Marseille
TAMPA, Fla. --(Business Wire)--
Syniverse
today announced that it will add points of presence (POPs) for its IPX
network in Frankfurt, Germany, and Marseille, France, in the first
quarter of 2013. The new locations add to Syniverse's (News - Alert) global IPX
footprint, which will include 16 POPs across North America, Asia Pacific
and Europe.
"We are committed to making connecting as easy and cost effective as
possible for our customers by building out IPX POPs in even more
locations worldwide," Syniverse Network Senior Vice President John
Wick said. "Existing POPs in London and Amsterdam have helped many
of our European customers access the network, and we expect the new
connection points to extend these benefits to even more mobile service
providers globally."
The Syniverse
IPX Network Solution provides a carrier-grade connection to
Syniverse via a global all-IP network that currently serves nearly 100
mobile service providers worldwide. Syniverse's IX also offers one-stop
access to the company's full suite of mobile solutions, facilitating a
"one connection, multiple services" approach that reduces costs and
boosts operational efficiencies by reducing the number of network
connections a mobile service provider must manage. The network is backed
by unmatched
service reliability, with 24x7, 365 monitoring by Syniverse Command
Center locations in Tampa, Fla., USA, and Bangalore, India.
As end-user expectations for ubiquitous high-speed data access
intensify, IPX also is playing a critical role as the network backbone
that makes LTE (News - Alert) roaming possible. Syniverse's solution in particular has
supported mobile service providers through LTE
roaming trials, and its IPX network is now being used to facilitate
the first commercial LTE roaming into North America.
"In addition to the efficiency and quality benefits, our customers know
IPX is the backbone for the next generation of roaming services that
their end users are increasingly demanding," Wick said. "Just as we have
with every other critical mobile technology transition over the past
25-plus years, we're leading the way by providing the vital
interoperability solutions necessary to ensure a seamless experience for
end users as they traverse LTE, Wi-Fi, 3G and 2G networks - or anywhere
in between."
