About IHM Services Company

IHM Services Company was created by the Institute for Health Metrics following a Series A financing investment from HLM Venture Partners in August of 2012. IHM Services is a provider of SaaS (News - Alert)-based analytics software that allows hospitals and healthcare providers to utilize business intelligence to improve the quality of patient care and better enable them to compete in the changing world of health reform. Its innovative solution supports compliance with federal quality, pay-for-performance programs such as Value Based Purchasing, Meaningful Use, Readmission Reduction and Hospital Acquired Conditions. Specifically, the software mines data embedded in MEDITECH to provide clinicians and administrators with actionable information. Reports go beyond the retrospective data to provide valuable near real-time information that not only supports compliance with federal programs, but helps hospitals improve patient care and safety, produce predictable medical outcomes, mitigate clinical risk and improve financial performance. About the Institute for Health Metrics

The Institute for Health Metrics is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to research, education and advocacy in healthcare. Founded in 2004, its vision was to explore whether the data residing in MEDITECH could be mined and analyzed to discover and provide better tools to help healthcare professionals improve the care of their patients. This exploration led to the development of a sophisticated system to automatically extract, normalize and standardize tens of thousands of data elements derived from millions of records and encounters. The creation of IHM Services allowed the Institute to bring this system to market. The Institute for Health Metrics will continue to focus on measuring and analyzing data related to quality care delivery across large patient populations. It will then use this research to educate IHM Services, MEDITECH, providers, vendors, researchers and public health organizations on best practice care delivery so they can all work together to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of patient care.
