ImageSoft, Inc. announced that it has released a new case study detailing how budget cuts at the Prosecuting Attorney's (Pennsylvania) Office in Ingham County, Michigan prompted process improvements and substantial savings there.
According to a release, in 2008, challenging economic conditions across Michigan and within Ingham County meant staff cuts in the Prosecuting Attorney's office were imminent. Faced with this looming scenario, Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart J. Dunnings, III sought a way to improve efficiencies to ensure that his staff would be able to keep pace with the mounting workload once cuts were imposed.
After determining that technology specifically a document management system to convert paper processes to digital processes would yield the best results, Dunning chose ImageSoft, of Southfield, Michigan for the project. ImageSoft provides document and process management solutions to automate, streamline and improve workplace processes.
The company noted that it implemented its ImageSoft iJustice solution to achieve Dunning's vision of enabling all prosecutors to prosecute cases in court using digital files accessed via a laptop computer. Dunning also sought to enable all criminal justice agencies within the county, including the PA office, law enforcement and the courts, to share information digitally.
With the technology solution and automated workflows provided by ImageSoft, the Ingham County Prosecutor's office achieved its paperless initiatives and has also:
-Managed its workload with a smaller staff while achieving labor savings of $450,000-plus annually
-Provided all parties in a case immediate access to case files via computer
-Implemented simpler, faster and more transparent processes to better serve its constituents
ImageSoft is a provider of technology and workflow solutions for customers in government, the courts, healthcare, insurance, education and manufacturing.
