Ascom Integrates TEMS Monitor Master with Spanish Mobile OperatorJan 22, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Concurrent with the announcement by the GSMA of nationwide joyn Rich Communications Services in Spain, Ascom Network Testing, a company focusing on mobile network testing, optimization and benchmarking, announced that a mobile operator in Spain will be using its TEMS Monitor Master mobile application performance monitoring solution to deploy and assure service quality for joyn RCS services. According to a release, RCS-e is a standard being driven by the GSMA that will enable consumers to have IM, live video sharing and file transfer across any device, on any network, with anyone in their mobile address book. To retain and attract subscribers, carriers will offer these assured RCS-e services as an alternative to over-the-top (OTT) services. With GSMA's announcement of joyn service availability, the Company said Spain will offer a fully interoperable rich communications solution, supported by Spain's three mobile operators: Movistar (Telefonica), Orange and Vodafone. The new joyn services enable customers to chat and enrich messaging or voice calls by exchanging images or video simultaneously during calls, in a private and secure manner, with any member of their contact list that has joyn, regardless of the user's network or mobile device. Additional services such as voice over IP (VoIP) or IP-video calls will be introduced in the near future. These services may be used on both the operators' mobile networks and on Wi-Fi networks. Ascom noted that TEMS Monitor Master allows carriers to monitor and troubleshoot applications in order to maintain a guaranteed service level for RSC-e-based messaging, image file transfer and, in the future, video sharing services. This service level guarantee serves as the primary differentiator between carrier-provided and free, 'best-effort' OTT services enabled by smartphone and PC clients. TEMS Monitor Master is a mobile application performance monitoring solution that wireless carriers around the globe use to test smartphones, modems and simulated user interactions in order to test and measure the performance and availability of application services.
