Netlist's HyperCloud Recognized as One of 2012 Hot 100 Products of the Year

IRVINE, CA, Jan 03, 2013 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Netlist, Inc. (NASDAQ: NLST), a leading provider of high performance memory solutions for the cloud computing market, today announced that EDN has named HyperCloud HCDIMM one of the "100 Hot Products of 2012." The 2012 EDN Hot 100 highlights the electronics industry's most significant products of the year based on innovation, significance, usefulness and popularity.

"We are pleased that EDN has recognized HyperCloud HCDIMM among their hot products of 2012," said Netlist CEO, C.K. Hong. "HyperCloud uniquely addresses the high density memory bottleneck associated with big data applications. It also allows servers to operate at their peak potential, increasing the performance of memory-intensive applications such as securities trading, analytics and simulation.

Representing a break-through technology, there is simply no other high speed memory product available today that comes close to matching the benefits that HyperCloud delivers." HyperCloud memory utilizes a distributed buffer architecture to reduce latency and incorporates Netlist's patented rank multiplication and load reduction technologies. Rank multiplication enables more DRAM capacity and load reduction reduces the loading to the memory interface allowing HCDIMMs to run at faster speeds at maximum capacity. Currently, 16GB and 32GB HCDIMMs are available for dual processor servers to scale to 384GB or 768GB system memory.

HyperCloud is qualified to ship with top selling servers from IBM and HP and implemented across a number of high-performance computing applications in industries such as electronic design automation, financial services, oil & gas, aerospace and automotive.

"It's always a fun and enlightening challenge for the EDN editors to select the year's Hot 100 products, which has been an annual tradition at EDN since 1993. This year's selection not only reflects some technology trends that have been in place for a while, but also highlights some new trends that are just emerging, as well as a unique product or two that is in a class of its own," said Rich Pell, Executive and Chief Technical Editor, EDN.
