ProVation® Order Sets from Wolters Kluwer Health Tops Its Category in KLAS Clinical Decision Support Report for Second Consecutive YearMINNEAPOLIS --(Business Wire)-- Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today that ProVation® Order Sets, powered by UpToDate® Decision Support, was ranked by KLAS as the top order set software in its annual report on the clinical decision support solutions market. Clinical Decision Support 2012: Order Sets, Care Plans, Drug Databases1 also ranked Medi-Span® highest among drug database vendors for configurability and a close second in alert types enabled. ProVation Order Sets outscored the competition on several key indicators, including overall satisfaction, product quality, ease of use and quality of phone/web support, as well as delivery of new technology and ability to support integration goals. It also scored highest on the question of whether or not users were getting their money's worth. Further, 100% of users surveyed indicated that ProVation Order Sets was part of their organization's long-term plans and 97% indicated they would purchase the solution again. KLAS, an independent healthcare IT vendor research firm that recognizes healthcare vendors for their leadership in working with customers to ensure satisfaction, compiled the 2012 report based on interviews with 249 providers about their approach to CDS and level of success overcoming key problems including workflow and EMR integration and alert fatigue management. ProVation Order Sets received above-average ratings for the ease with which order sets can be maintained and updated, in particular for its One Click Updates tool that alerts users to new evidence and enables changes to be applied across multiple order sets in a single step. Also scoring high was the ability to manage governance and consensus around order sets, due in large part to the software's direct links to UpToDate®, the resource of choice for more than 600,000 clinicians worldwide. Though no overall rankings were established for drug databases, Medi-Span® received solid performance scores in most areas. Clients reported a good overall experience and were more satisfied with Medi-Span than were clients of other drug databases with the progress made in managing alerts. "Advanced CDS tools like ProVation Order Sets and Medi-Span are integral to the uccessful transition to a quality- and performance-based system of care, in particular for their ability to drive standardization and advance adoption of evidence-based medicine," said Arvind Subramanian, President and CEO, Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical Solutions. "To have our solutions ranked so highly by our customers and KLAS is an honor and validates our dedication to leveraging advanced technologies and trusted clinical content to deliver meaningful tools that integrate easily in to clinical workflows and positively impact care quality and safety."
