Verizon's new cell site in Placerville, California expands and improves wireless coverage

US wireless communications service provider Verizon Wireless announced on Friday the activation of a new cell site in El Dorado county, Placerville, California.
This new site improves wireless coverage and capacity along Highway 49, Bar Crest Road, Wallace Road, Gold Hill Road and Lotus Road.
Verizon said that since its inception in 2000 it has over invested USD7.2bn in its California network, out of USD70bn nationally over that same period to increase the coverage and capacity of its network and to add new services.
Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) (Nasdaq:VZ) and Vodafone (LSE: VOD) (Nasdaq: VOD).
