Telecom Industry Leaders Recognize EdgeCast as 2012 Best Content Delivery Network Provider

EdgeCast Networks, the world's fastest and most reliable content delivery network (CDN), recently received top industry accolades from Capacity Magazine during the eighth annual Capacity Awards ceremonies in Europe. The EdgeCast 2012 honors included Best Content Delivery Network provider and Best Market Innovation for EdgeCast's OpenCDN technology.

The Capacity Awards recognize leading global wholesale telecommunications and service provider companies. Winners were chosen by a panel of expert telecommnications executives, analysts, and Capacity Magazine (News - Alert) editors. EdgeCast earned the Best Content Delivery Network provider honor for the performance and service of its next-generation network that sets EdgeCast apart from competitors and has grown to deliver more than four percent of the world's Internet traffic.

EdgeCast's OpenCDN technology - which garnered the Best Market Innovation award - is a CDN platform that gives carriers and content providers instant access to a competitive marketplace for global IP transit while seamlessly handling the back-end administration in a consistent, open format.
