Microsoft Israel staff don't use Windows Phone 8

Dec 18, 2012 (Globes - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Six weeks after the launch of Windows Phone 8, most Microsoft Israel and Microsoft Israel R&D Center employees do not use smartphones with Microsoft Corporation's (Nasdaq: MSFT) new operating system.

The Windows Phone 8 operating system is supposed to be enterprise-friendly, because of security issues and adaptations for Microsoft products. Microsoft wants to sell the operating system to both the private and enterprise markets. For this reason, it is astonishing that Microsoft Israel does not yet use the system, which the company presents as offering solutions that are better than others on the market.

It should be noted that Microsoft Israel made sure to equip its employees with the Windows 8 operating system for PCs months before the launch. It could have therefore been expected that a company trying to sell its product to other enterprises in the market would want its own employees to use it. For more than a year, employees have been using smartphones with Microsoft's previous operating systems, Window Phone 7 or 7.5.

Microsoft Israel said, "The upgrade will be carried out soon, as planned. We are now testing a range of devices on the market, and soon all employees of Microsoft Israel and Microsoft Israel R&D Center will be able to benefit from the most advanced smartphones on the market." ___ (c)2012 the Globes (Tel Aviv, Israel) Visit the Globes (Tel Aviv, Israel) at www.globes.co.il/serveen/globes/nodeview.asp fid=942 Distributed by MCT Information Services
