Further, the service delivery platform is coupled with a business model for generating revenue or cost-offsetting based on targeted media advertisement during communication initiation. A central registration database is maintained to store user profiles having information, such as location, preferences, demographics, etc., for providing advertisements to users during the ring back cycle. The subscriber database provides the functionality of a unified contact management center with the ability to maintain contact information, which would normally be maintained through separate directories or buddy lists or social networking circles. The service provider platform can be deployed at the boundary of an access provider network at the point a subscriber might otherwise incur costs for the completion of a communication.
