Hipcricket selected by Monumental Sports & Entertainment to power mobile engagement

Hipcricket, a mobile marketing and advertising solutions provider and a subsidiary of Augme Technologies Inc (OTCBB: AUGT), announced on Tuesday that Monumental Sports & Entertainment, an integrated sports and entertainment company and owner of the Washington Capitals (NHL), Washington Wizards (NBA), Washington Mystics (WNBA) and the Verizon Centre arena, has chosen Hipcricket to power fan and patron mobile engagement programmes.
Financial details of the selection were not available.
MSE plans to use Hipcricket to power campaigns to drive patron engagement during games, concerts and other events. Fans that opt-in to mobile programmes will be entered into a database that Monumental Sports can use for re-marketing purposes. Hipcricket's sophisticated integration capabilities will empower Monumental Sports to link mobile fan interactions with its CRM systems to obtain a comprehensive view of customer touchpoints.
The planned mobile campaigns include text-to-screen programmes that tie directly into game presentation; for example, fans can participate in polling and contests simply by texting a message to an SMS code listed on the Verizon Centre's HD scoreboard display. It also includes team scores, highlights and breaking news; quizzes, contests and exclusive opportunities to win tickets and prizes and promotional opportunities with arena, event and team sponsors.
