Sep 21, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) --
Rootstock Software, a Software as a Service (SaaS) manufacturing solution provider, announced that EBARA International, a company focusing in the engineering and production of specialized cryogenic liquefied gas pumps and turbine expanders, has selected Rootstock manufacturing and supply chain apps built on the Force.com cloud-computing platform.
EBARA International is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based EBARA Corp., which has 77 subsidiaries and 11 affiliated companies throughout the world with over 14,000 employees. Rootstock initially will be implemented in three different business units located in Sparks, Nevada and Rock Hill, South Carolina in a multi-year agreement.
According to a release, EBARA, a current salesforce.com Sales Cloud (CRM) customer, was looking to extend the extraordinary salesforce.com user experience to their manufacturing and supply chain operations. EBARA focused their search on native Force.com manufacturing apps that would provide the flexibility and functionality they needed to support their complex business processes.
After an exhaustive year-long search evaluating multiple cloud applications vendors on the Force.com platform, EBARA selected Rootstock manufacturing and supply chain apps because of the manufacturing expertise of the Rootstock team and Rootstock's product capabilities that are available. Built on the Force.com platform, Rootstock provides a nimble solution for manufacturers and distributors who are demanding shorter implementations, lower costs and returns on their IT investments.
"EBARA is always willing to leverage new technology, but only when it makes sense," said Joel Madison, CEO, EBARA International. "The Rootstock team has a proven track record delivering powerful solutions for complex manufacturing and supply chain environments and we're delighted they're able to provide this capability to EBARA on the Force.com platform today."
"EBARA needed to move away from the closed and rigid processes of legacy ERP to the very flexible and open work-flows possible in Rootstock on the Force.com platform," said Frank Lowery, Director of IT, EBARA International. "Rootstock is the only vendor on the Force.com cloud platform that can support our complex, project-oriented, engineer-to-order manufacturing environment today."
"EBARA is a great example of a complex manufacturer replacing expensive traditional on-premise software solutions and moving to the cloud", said Patrick Garrehy, CEO and Founder, Rootstock Software. "We are very pleased that EBARA, with its very demanding information systems requirements, has chosen Rootstock to deliver an integrated, cost effective app on the Force.com platform that provides the critical visibility, flexibility and control manufacturers need in today's fast paced business environment."
