Areas USA Chooses Micros Simphony Enterprise Solution to Standardize Operations

Sep 18, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Micros Systems, Inc., a provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, announced that Areas USA, a provider of food & beverage and retail services in the travel industry, has selected the Micros Simphony Enterprise Solution as its standard SaaS, cloud-based point-of-sale system across its United States airport and turnpike operations.

According to a release, areas USA will build its operational technology infrastructure for food and beverage utilizing Micros Simphony, which provides the organization with a robust enterprise system, web-based reporting, and business intelligence functionalities with a high level of flexibility. Micros's Simphony also seamlessly interfaces to Areas USA's Corporate Infrastructure systems.

The company said that by leveraging Micros Simphony's technology and service oriented architecture (SOA), Areas USA can quickly deploy the system across its organization and streamline the integration of Simphony into its multi-brand airport and turnpike operations. Simphony is centralized, allowing for the entire system to be managed from one application. The solution is also being hosted in one of Micros's worldwide data centers, removing Areas USA's onsite servers and the responsibility of managing the servers from its internal IT department.


"We selected Micros cloud-based Simphony and Micros's superior hardware technology due to the solution's advanced functionalities and Micros's strength in the hospitality industry," stated Raul Ramis, Information Technology Director, Areas USA. By installing Micros Simphony across our locations, we will have a comprehensive, all inclusive point-of-service solution, which will fully address all of our varying technology needs at each operation."
