Diligent Consulting Inc. Awarded $960 Million IDIQ Contract from the U.S. Air Force to Provide Application Services
SAN ANTONIO --(Business Wire)--
Diligent Consulting Inc. announced today that they were awarded a
NETCENTS-2 Application Services - Small Business (SB) IDIQ contract from
the U.S. Air Force. This $960M IDIQ has a three year base period and
four one year option periods, with a performance period of up to ten
years, if all option periods are exercised.
The contract scope covers a wide range of services such as application
development, sustainment, migration, integration, training, help desk
support, testing and operational support. Other services include
exposing data from Authoritative Data Sources (ADS) to support
web-services or Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) constructs in AF
enterprise environments. One great benefit will be the contract's role
in enabling the Air Force IT transformation initiative. It will enable
the IT lifecycle using a standard, consistent AF roadmap and
architecture, to include legacy operational and sustainment activities,
revitalization or migration of legacy systems, the development of new
mission capabilities and applications including net-centric data
services, web services, COTS software integration, mobile applications,
and future service-oriented capabilities.
In addition to it being a mandatory use contract for the Air Force,
NETCENTS-2 is also available to Department of Defense and other federal
agencies when the requirements relate to interoperability with Air Force
capabilities; supports Air Force IT infrastructure, applications or
operations; supports host-tenant arrangements involving Air Force units;
or is in support of joint operations and solutions. Also, if a Small
Business grows to exceed the $25M size standard, solely due to organic
growth (not acquisition related), the company can be transitioned to the
NETCENTS-2 Full and Open Application Services IDIQ if they meet the
necessary criteria.
"Our clients will love the fact that NETCENTS-2 has features that
significantly shorten the procurement lead time of task orders and is
flexible and very easy to use," said Rick Riney, Diligent COO. "It will
be a major enabler for applications that need to move to the Cloud."
"Over the last few years we have successfully completed full lifecycle
development for several Air Force systems and are currently working on
others," stated David Cerminaro, Diligent President and CEO. "We have
been able to reduce costs for the Air Force by modernizing old legacy
code to current web-based technology, enabled by Service Oriented
Architecture (SOA), and fully documented following Department of Defense
Architectural Framework (DODAF) 2.0 guidelines. This contract greatly
strengthens Diligent's capability to support our clients and grow our
company."
