Ventas Appoints John Hart Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Jul 20, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Ventas, Inc. announced that it has appointed John K. Hart to the newly created position of Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer reporting to the Company's Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.

"With a successful and productive IT career spanning more than 25 years, John Hart brings to Ventas an extensive background in creating and managing complex and robust state-of-the-art financial IT systems in a rapidly evolving industry," Ventas Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Richard A. Schweinhart said. "With our recent doubling in size and enormous opportunities for growth in the highly fragmented healthcare and seniors housing real estate sector, John will play a pivotal role in building our infrastructure to help us execute our strategy and achieve our business goals." According to a release on July 17, Hart joined Ventas from CME Group Inc., where he worked for 16 years, most recently as Managing Director of Technology. At the CME, where he supervised a team of 200 IT professionals, Hart was responsible for managing the exchange's enterprise architecture, business systems, security, telecommunications, networking, help desk and operations. Earlier in his career he was an assistant vice president at First Options in Chicago, and prior to that he was a senior network architect with the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
