BT adds Cloud Contact solution to US Contact Center portfolio

May 22, 2012 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Provider of communications services and solutions British Telecommunications plc (BT) (LSE:BT.A) (NYSE:BT) announced on Tuesday that it has expanded its Contact Center portfolio for the US with the addition of BT Cloud Contact, a cloud-based IP contact centre service based on Cisco's Unified Communications and Collaboration technology (UCC).

The company said BT Cloud Contact helps companies to address the challenges such as reach, flexibility and cost control for providing global unified communications to contact centres. The service is designed to support the global expansion of multinational organisations and is based upon BT's extensive global network.

BT Cloud Contact is available on a flexible pay-as-you-use basis. The services can be seamlessly integrated into other existing call centre infrastructures and offers costs savings that result from moving to an opex-based commercial model, driving operational savings and service improvement, as well as the ability to share hardware, software and licensing across an organization's contact centres in a secure and resilient 'private cloud'.
