[May 16, 2012] Global Telesat awarded new US Navy contract for mobile satellite equipment Tweet May 16, 2012 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- World Surveillance Group Inc (OTC.BB:WSGI), a developer of lighter-than-air unmanned aerial vehicles and related technologies, announced on Tuesday that its wholly owned subsidiary, Global Telesat Corp (GTC), has been awarded a new contract to supply the US Navy with mobile satellite equipment. Under the contract, financial details of which were not available, GTC will supply to the Navy specialised equipment capable of providing high speed data communications by satellite anywhere on the planet. The equipment to be provided under the contract reportedly allows US Navy teams access to office-based applications like email, internet or VPN access, as well as other applications that require more bandwidth such as videoconferencing or live broadcasting, in remote areas where no other forms of communications exist. GTC provides mobile voice and data communications services globally via satellite to the US government, defence industry and commercial users.
