Bluedrop Launches Advanced Training and Simulation Centre in Halifax
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia --(Business Wire)--
Bluedrop Performance Learning Inc. (TSX-V: BPL) announced today that it
will be opening the Bluedrop Training and Simulation Centre (BTSC) in
Halifax, Nova Scotia. This state of the art facility will host and
develop some of the world's most advanced training and simulation
technologies to address the operational and maintenance requirements for
Civil and Military Aviation, as well as Army and Naval domains.
The BTSC will open this summer at Bluedrop's Bayer's Lake Industrial
Park location and will initially employ approximately 20 highly skilled
people with plans for significant growth over the next three years. The
BTSC is a training technology collaboration centre, which will leverage
the best of global commercially available technologies, industry leading
researchers and higher learning institution capability. It will marry
these assets with Aviation and Defence expertise to provide modern civil
and military operators, maintainers, and leaders with the very best
training solutions in the industry. The facility will be a hub for other
industry suppliers, partners and government agencies to provide globally
advanced capabilities based in the Atlantic Region that will be exported
worldwide.
"The Centre will provide the ability to develop, demonstrate, evaluate
and enhance training capability in militaries around the world," says
Allen Dillon, Bluedrop's Vice President Business Development for Defence
and Aerospace. "People Ready is Bluedrop's maxim and the BTSC is
ultimately focused on improving the readiness of the modern operator and
maintainer as they progress through the traiing school, operational
units, and operational theatre," says Dillon.
Emad Rizkalla, President and CEO of Bluedrop added, "The Centre is a
strategic enabler for Bluedrop as it expands its presence in global
markets. Our Defence and Aerospace unit is experiencing phenomenal
growth and this investment is part of our strategy to deliver
unprecedented results and value for our clients. Bluedrop is already
very well respected in Defence and Aviation circles-the BTSC will take
us to a new level."
The establishment of this Centre in Nova Scotia is a natural fit for
Bluedrop, enhanced by the strong support received from the Province of
Nova Scotia. The capabilities of the Centre align fully with Canadian
and regional development priorities such as the military ship
construction and related combat systems integration as announced in
Canada's National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy. Steve Elder,
President of Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Nova
Scotia, cited: "The strong cluster of global defence companies and
significant base of Canadian military assets in Nova Scotia, makes this
Province the logical choice for Bluedrop to establish this world class
capability."
Bluedrop is currently engaged with Canadian and Foreign military forces
and leading global Defence companies, through the provision of advanced
training technologies. Headquartered in St. John's, Newfoundland and
Labrador, Bluedrop employs over 100 personnel in Canada, including
leading Subject Matter Experts in Air Force, Army, and Naval domains
with in-depth knowledge of the design and delivery of highly effective
