Inphi Delivers Industry's First TIA That Enables 100G Reconfigurable Colorless Networks
LOS ANGELES, CA, Mar 05, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
OFC/NFOEC -- Inphi Corporation (NYSE: IPHI), a leading provider of
high-speed analog semiconductor solutions for the communications and
computing markets, today announced that it is sampling the industry's
first transimpedance amplifier (TIA) for 100G reconfigurable
colorless networks. The new chip will be showcased at Inphi's
OFC/NFOEC booth #1447 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, March
6-8, 2012.
Network operators are constantly challenged to cost-effectively meet
unpredictable bandwidth demands, rapidly provision new services, and
maintain high network availability. To achieve these objectives,
network operators are transforming their networks toward a
reconfigurable colorless network architecture using coherent
receivers. Coherent receivers are key enabling technologies for the
colorless architecture, as they allow for dynamic optical wavelength
selection at network endpoints. Inphi's IN3250TA, the latest addition
to its TIA portfolio, has wide dynamic range and high input current
handling capabilities, enabling a single receiver to be used across a
large number of channels with different wavelengths, thereby
transforming the networks to reconfigurable, "colorless" networks.
"As optical networks gear up to meet demand for higher bandwidth
driven by increased use of mobile devices and wireless connectivity
for high-definition video as well as multimedia content and
applications, 100G reconfigurable colorless networks are needed,"
said Loi Nguyen, vice president, Networking, Communications and
Multi-Market Products at Inphi. "Inphi's new amplifier enables
next-generation networks by offering wide dynamic range and high
input current required to support 100G reconfigurable colorless
networks."
"The market for reconfigurable colorless networks continues to grow
as demand increases for 100G optical networks," said Daryl Inniss,
vice president and practice leader, Components at Ovum. "Inphi's new
TIA helps realization of this more flexible, efficient, and scalable
network."
