Permira acquires Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories

Feb 01, 2012 (Datamonitor Financial Deals Tracker via COMTEX) -- Permira, a UK-based private equity firm, has made a binding offer to acquire Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories, Inc., a US-based provider of integrated contact center software solutions, from Alcatel Lucent, a France-based provider of telecom solutions, for $1,500 million.



Announcement (October 19, 2011): Permira has made a binding offer to acquire Genesys Telecommunications from Alcatel Lucent for $1,500 million.

Technology Crossover Ventures and certain co-investors of the Permira funds will also participate in the transaction. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2011 or beginning of 2012.


Rumor (September 5, 2011): According to globaltelecomsbusiness.com, Bloomberg reported that Permira may acquire Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories from Alcatel Lucent for approximately EUR1,500 million.

RBC Capital Markets is acting as financial advisor to Permira and Jones Day is acting as legal advisor to Alcatel-Lucent. Kirkland & Ellis LLP is acting as legal advisor to Technology Crossover Ventures. Ernst & Young AG is acting as advisor to Genesys.
