Infor Taps GXS's Cloud-Based Tokenization Service

Jan 11, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- GXS has announced that Infor, a provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, is integrating GXS's cloud-based Tokenization Service into their Infor10 Expense Management SaaS solution.

The GXS Tokenization service will enable the secure exchange of credit card information and comply with Payment Credit Card Industry's Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), the Company noted.

"Providing secure credit card information is critical," said Jim Plourde, VP of SaaS Systems, Infor. "By combining with GXS's tokenization Service, Infor is able to offer customers a safe, reliable way of handling confidential data." "The Infor partnership is another great proof-point for cloud-to-cloud integration," said Andrea Brody, VP, business development, GXS. "We're excited to be able to partner with Infor to safely protect consumer data." GXS said its Tokenization Services accepts transactions from credit card issuers and replaces information such as the card number and expiration date with a secure "token" (a random string of characters) before sending the data to Infor.


According to a release, Infor10 Expense Management SaaS is a software-as-a-service that helps companies manage the costs and compliance in employee spending, with modules for expense reports, payment requests, travel plans and time sheets. Like many companies who handle credit card data, Infor was concerned about providing a secure service and ensuring their brand's reputation in the market. By integrating with GXS's cloud-based service, Infor can provide a PCI-compliant service while reducing the need for complex changes to their internal systems and minimizing the scope of PCI compliance audits.

The Company said that in 2006, credit card organizations created the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) to combat the security threats of hackers and protect cardholder data, ensuring that companies process, store and transmit cardholder data in a secure environment. But creating the systems and processes to establish and maintain PCI compliant services can be substantial for companies processing high volumes of card transactions.

As part of the partnership, the Company noted that Infor joins the GXS GridConnect program, which enables software vendors and cloud service providers to embed the GXS Trading Grid into their offerings, pre-connecting to 400,000 trading partners.

GXS provides B2B integration services to global brands and operates an integration cloud, GXS Trading Grid.
