360networks Continues Texas Expansion

SEATTLE, June 28, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- 360networks, a facilities-based provider of wholesale telecommunication services, today announced the addition of 117 Texas wire centers for its Single Point of Interconnection (SPI) and Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) T1 services. 360networks can now support its wholesale customers' T1 needs in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio and Corpus Christi. 360networks's SPI and DIA services now reach a total of 2,311 wire centers in over 60 tier 1 to 4 markets across 15 states.

"Our customers' continued adoption of SPI and DIA services drove this expansion, just like the expansion announced last month in California," commented Steve Cardwell, vice president of sales for 360networks. "With a single interconnection, our wholesale customers can now access end-users throughout these Texas markets." 360networks's SPI service efficiently supports lower speed, Clear Channel T1s/DS3s from end-users' LEC demarcation point for customers' IP Transit or Local Access needs. SPI works as a centralized hub for connecting Clear Channel Layer 1 T1s and DS3s over single or multiple channelized connections. Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) supports enterprise customers' growing needs for reliable Internet access at the LEC demarcation point. Both services feature a coax/electrical or optical interface, with access speeds of 1.544 Mb or 44.73 Mb, growth increments per T1/DS3, and standard framing, coding and signaling options.
