Tekelec to Present at International Tyrrhenian Workshop on Digital Communications

Tekelec (NASDAQ: TKLC), the broadband data management company, will
participate in the International Tyrrhenian Workshop on Digital
Communications (ITWDC) held September 6-8 at Island of Ponza, Italy.
Dr. Dorgham Sisalem, director of SIP signaling architecture at
Tekelec, will present his paper "SIP Overload: Where are we today?"
on Tuesday, September 7 at 10 a.m. In the paper, Sisalem examines the
challenges related to controlling overload at SIP servers and the
different possibilities for controlling this issue by looking at the
main components of overload control algorithms.
Sisalem is responsible for the architecture of Tekelec's SIP
Signaling Router. He co-founded iptelorg with Tekelec SIP expert and
Assistant Vice President Jiri Kuthan in 2004. iptelorg, which Tekelec
acquired in 2005, provided the voice over Internet protocol (VoIP)
infrastructure for nearly all major German ISPs such as T-Online and
Freenet. Sisalem received his Master of Science and Ph.D. from the
Technical University of Berlin in 1995 and 2000, respectively.
