Freescale Semiconductor, a dealer in the design and manufacture of embedded semiconductors, has stated that their newly released CodeWarrior 10 development suites are designed to help streamline the software development process.

Based on the company's Eclipse technology, CodeWarrior 10 integrates all the necessary software tools into an intuitive, common look-and-feel platform to help developers accelerate software development and speed their time-to-market.
Freescale has claimed that the CodeWarrior integrated development environment continues to be the essential tool for code development, debug and test when designing with Freescale's extensive range of microcontroller and microprocessor solutions. Eclipse technology is an open architecture software platform that offers an excellent framework for building software development environments and is claimed to be becoming a standard framework used by many embedded software vendors.

CodeWarrior 10 tool suite is available in three different suites: CodeWarrior Development Studio for MCUs version 10.0; CodeWarrior Development Studio for StarCore version 10.0; and CodeWarrior Development Studio for Power Architecture Technology version 10.0.
Tim Tumilty, director of Developer Tools and Technology at Freescale has commented that they understand the software needs of their customers and is committed to providing a user-friendly development platform that can take full advantage of the chosen silicon for a particular application. Now with Eclipse, the CodeWarrior suite of tools allows developers to customize their development environment, as well as enables tighter technology integration with Freescale's partners.
Freescale has stated that the CodeWarrior Development Studio for MCUs version 10.0 whose production release is expected to be available from July 16, 2010 integrates development tools for the RS08, HCS08, ColdFire and ColdFire+ architectures into a single product.
One field applications engineer who beta tested the CodeWarrior Development Studio for MCUs version 10.0 has explained that the development studio consists of all the features that developers would generally expect while still adding extra functionality to the toolset. As a single development environment, it is consistent across supported workstations and personal computers within an organization.
A key feature of the studio is the Processor (News - Alert) Expert, a rapid application development tool with a graphical user interface, automatic code generator and built-in knowledge base, customers can generate peripheral code and low level drivers to bring up their boards quickly and error-free.
Recently Freescale unveiled new MSC825x family and Radvision (News - Alert) picked Freescale MSC8144 DSP.
