Air Mobility Command's Pope Air Force Base Deploys AtHoc's IWSAlerts Alerting System

AtHoc, a dealer in providing enterprise-class, network-centric emergency notification systems, announced that its IWSAlerts mass emergency alerting system has been installed at the Pope Air Force Base of the Air Mobility's Command in order to alert base personal during times of distress.

Pope AFB includes both AMC and U.S. Air Force Reserve Command wings and the mass alert system is co-hosted by centralized AFRC's servers. The co-hosting feature allows for 100 percent interoperability between the AMC/Pope AFB and AFRC alerting systems and personal of both the wings can be notified at the same time. Since communications infrastructure and servers shared by both wings it reduces costs and IT management overhead.

Another benefit includes the ability of operators in Pope's consolidated Command Post to activate alerts to both Pope's AMC and AFRC personnel using same system, training and procedures or Concept of Operation.

According to AtHoc, at times of distress it is critical to quickly and accurately notify all personnel of threats, provide instructions and be able to assess in real-time the status of all personnel. Many organizations and military facilities are relying on the IP network to notify mass alerts effectively and instantly to their personal.

The company has claimed that its IWSAlerts has been designed as a highly secure, enterprise-class network-centric mass notification system. Its interoperability, scalability and security measures have led to its selection by highly demanding defense and commercial organizations including the U.S Strategic Command, U.S. Air Force, Boeing (News - Alert) and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
