The CDMA is a digital modulation and radio access system that employs signature codes (rather than time slots or frequency bands) to arrange simultaneous and continuous access to a radio network by multiple users.
Android which is released under the open source project from the Open Handset Alliance (News - Alert) (OHA) currently supports GSM and WCDMA mobile radio technologies. Teleca states that it will help Android to support CDMA-only as well as world mode phones (GSM/WCDMA/CDMA).
Teleca claims that it is the ideal Android solutions provider for silicon suppliers, handset manufacturers, phone brands, operators and internet services providers. Their global reach and scale can accelerate product’s time-to-market while managing cost.
Teleca had joined the OHA and established a global platform expertise for Systems Integration Solutions around Android. The company officials have stated that their early investments in building capabilities around the Android Platform had helped them offer customers fast and secure Android Systems Integration.
Teleca adds that their expertise covers the entire product creation life cycle as well as all the stages of creating and productizing the platform. Whether it is creating the baseport, telephony integration, integration and optimization, middleware extension, application development and customization or total system integration, Teleca has the expertise and years of experience in the open OS-Open Source environment that will benefit customers.
Teleca worked with a major CDMA chipset provider to integrate and test the CDMA-enabled Android on a reference phone. The project will be rolled into a future Android release and will be open sourced early 2009.
Teleca has stated that their Android CDMA work is naturally an open source as part of the Android open source project.
