Bluewolf Announces Grants for Eligible New York City Public High School Students

TMCnet Contributing Editor

Bluewolf has announced that it will continue its annual college scholarship program for New York City public high school students. The scholarship program was inaugurated in 2007 as an extension of its corporate giving program.

According to the terms of the program, the Bluewolf Technology 2009 Scholarship will grant a one-time scholarship award of $2,000 each to a New York City public high school senior who are interested in pursuing a degree in technology-related fields. The grant is to be used for tuition at an accredited college or university of the student's choice.

Explaining the criteria for the scholarship, company officials said that only those students who will graduate in 2009 may apply. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. A detailed list of eligibility requirements as well as the application form is available at the Bluewolf website.

Students who are shortlisted will be interviewed by the scholarship committee. Officials said that applications for the program are due on June 1, 2009.

Michael Kirven, cofounder and principal of Bluewolf pointed out that the company had expanded its scholarship program this year with two additional grants. He said that the grants were aimed at helping one boy and one girl who were passionate about technology pursue their educational dreams.

Kirven added, "Our mission is to encourage some of New York's brightest students to pursue challenging careers in technology that are vital to our world today."

According to company sources, the scholarships are recognition of the fact that today’s talented youth will be tomorrow’s industry and community leaders. By helping these students pursue their career goals and educational dreams, Bluewolf is also demonstrating its commitment to people and communities.

Since 2005, Bluewolf has been philanthropically committed to its surrounding communities through financial contributions, community volunteerism, and product and service donations to non-profit organizations across the United States. It also offers its technology consulting services at a discount to non-profit groups.
