'Twilight' story will continue on big screen

Nov 24, 2008 (Chicago Tribune - McClatchy-Tribune News Service via COMTEX) --
"Twilight" fans, rejoice.
The sequel is on the way.
Summit Entertainment topped off a big weekend for its vampire flick by announcing that "New Moon" is a go.

It really wasn't much of a surprise, considering the move had been talked about for a while.
And with "Twilight" cleaning up at the box office - it was No. 1 over its opening weekend, hauling in $70.6 million - the green light on "New Moon" was a no-brainer.

"I'm thrilled to have the chance to work with (Summit) again on 'New Moon,' " author Stephenie Meyer said in a statement.

"Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will return for "New Moon," the second book in Meyer's best-selling series.
